| Introduction to My Favourite Planet |
Some say the world's a small place. But if you have spent days on a bus through the Andes, or got lost among the labyrinth of streets of a Moroccan souk, or even been stranded at a remote border without the necessary visa, you may not agree.
It is becoming ever easier for some of us to travel to the remotest parts of our planet, but we could all do with a bit of help.
The aim of My Favourite Planet is to bring as much useful, reliable information for travellers onto one website as possible, so that you don't have to go searching all over the internet.
This is a continuous process, and it's going to take us a while to bring so many locations online, because our planet really is a big place.
We are committed to keeping this website as accurate, easy to read and use as possible. So, no annoying pop-ups, banners or weird programming. We will have some advertising to help pay the bills, but we try to keep it relevant to the needs of our readers.
We welcome readers' feedback, so please contact us if there is a particular place you would like to know more about

We also welcome you to take part and contribute your articles, information and photos about anywhere in the world.
We look forward to hearing from you. |

 |
|
My Favourite Planet currently has two main sections: the My Favourite Planet Travel Guides and My Favourite Planet Blogs.
 |
My Favourite Planet Travel Guides
 |
Original articles, maps, photo galleries and practical information, which collectively present portraits of particular places. The guides are continually being revised, expanded and updated as we obtain more information and images.
 See further details below.

Our Guide to Planet Earth presents a series of articles and essays about our favourite planet, written from very different perspectives.

My Favourite Planet Blogs
 |
Edwin Drood's Column
A weekly news blog by the mysterious Edwin Drood, published on My Favourite Planet Blogs every Tuesday.
The Drood's blog articles contain strong opinions on the latest news and events around the world. His searing gaze is directed on a wide variety of topics: from the economic crisis in the Euro Zone, through the weirdness of North Korea's leadership to the search for extra-terrestrial life.
 The Cheshire Cat Blog
A series of photo essays, articles, videos and postcards by various authors in different parts of the world.
There is no fixed theme or format, and the blogs may be humorous or serious in tone.
The Cheshire Cat usually appears once a month, although occasionally extra blogs may also published.
Contributions to The Cheshire Cat Blog are welcome. See the contribute page for details.

As you read this, the My Favourite Planet team is out there busy researching and collecting more information about the world's business and holiday destinations.
Some information, such as exchange rates and transport schedules, is changing constantly. We endeavour to keep such information up-to-date.
