The open air theatre and gymnasterion on the hillside of Polygyros |
|
Polygyros' Municipal Theatre (Δημοτικό Θέατρο), is an open-air ampitheatre, built on the hillside just to the northwest of the town centre. In summer it hosts theatrical performances and concerts, but it does not seem to go out of its way to advertise these to the outside world. There is even less information available about the other massive building, the Gymnasterion.
The 890 metre high peak of Tsoukalas, just to the north of the town, offers a good view across southern Halkidiki. |
