The Mediterranean islet Stroggyli Kastellorizou (Στρογγυλή Μεγίστης), also known as Strongili or Ipsili and in Turkish as Çam Adası (Pine Island), is the easternmost territory in Greece, and until 2004 in the European Union, before Cyprus became a member. Its 6.6 metre high lighthouse, built in 1910 during the Italian occupation, has the distinction of being the easternmost building in Greece.
It lies around 5 km southeast of Kastellorizo, is approximately 1.5 km long and 700 m wide at its widest point, covering an area of about 0.9 square km. Administratively it is part of the Municipality of Megisti. Although it is generally described as being uninhabited, according to the 2001 Greek census it had a population of 9, presumably Greek soldiers stationed there. The 2011 census, however, reported 0 permanent inhabitants.
On 14th July 2015 Stroggyli was sold to the American film actor Johnny Depp for 4.2 million Euros. Perhaps he dreams of spending his vacations in the lighthouse.
